As a small business owner and busy mother of two, My Alarcon created Malary Beth Designs in 2023 to marry her passion for creativity outside her corporate job. "Malary" comes from a combination of her first and last name and "Beth" comes from her children's names.

Hi, I'm My!
First thing's first--I always get asked how my name is pronounced--it's super short and simple--it is pronounced "me"!
I am a wife and mother of two kids + four furbabies. I have always had a passion for creativity and love showcasing my work through hobbies such as crafting, calligraphy, DIY, and baking. As a little girl, I remember whipping up cakes in my mom's kitchen, and trying to ice them to a smooth perfection!
Fast forward to adulthood, my baking hobby really kicked off shortly after my daughter was born. I enjoyed watching the cake baking shows on Food Network and started experimenting with buttercream recipes, fondant decorating, cupcakes, and cake balls. Friends and co-workers starting asking me to make cakes for them, and before I knew it, I was making custom birthday and wedding cakes.
Life got super busy so I put baking on the back burner. In 2022, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This forced me to focus on my health and shift my priorities. I turned to crafting, calligraphy, and baking as an outlet. Now I'm back with a laser cutter, iPad, and lots of ideas!
